TRIP DETAILS
Join us for a variety of adventure, showing off the areas in and around Cape Town. Hiking Table Mountain and Nature Reserves, kayaking with the penguins on the Cape Peninsula and- of course- game drives on Sanbona Wildlife Reserve.
Cape Town is a true destination city, with its exciting vibe, amazing culinary scene, beautiful Cape Dutch architecture, thriving art community and renowned sports teams – all set against the backdrop of iconic Table Mountain and the swirling waters of the Atlantic Ocean. We will enjoy what the city has to offer, then make our way down to Cape Peninsula then a couple nights down on the southern coast then off to the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve.
Nestled in the heart of the Little Karoo, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is a three-hour drive from Cape Town, along Route 62. At the foot of the towering Warmwaterberg Mountains, Sanbona boasts sculpted Cape Fold Mountains, wide open Karoo plains, indigenous flora and fauna and rare examples of San rock art, some dating back more than 3, 500 years. Whilst the free roaming Big 5 call Sanbona home, it’s the vastness of the landscape and the raw beauty of the boundless plains that make safaris at Sanbona unique. Explore the 58, 000 hectares of this malaria-free premier, private game reserve for an ultimate safari experience close to Cape Town.
The trip will conclude with a night in Cape Winelands, were we can take in the beautiful scenery and taste the local fine wines. This trip should be on everyone's bucket list for there is a little bit of everything South Africa.

Cape Peninsula Tour With Sea Kayaking, plus time for a short walk in the National Park (lunch included)
We depart our hotel and travel to the naval hamlet of Simon's Town which is located on the False Bay coast of the Cape Peninsula. Embark on a sea kayaking adventure in a twin or single-seat Fluid kayak accompanied by a knowledgeable, fully-trained and experienced sea kayak guide. After a beach landing, we will return to Seaforth Beach to change into dry clothing. Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve – one of two world-renowned landmarks within the Table Mountain National Park. The Cape of Good Hope functioned as a beacon for sailors for years and is still widely referred to as ‘The Cape’ by sea farers. Most visitors to Cape Town regard a trip to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point (the tip of the Cape Peninsula) as obligatory.
This part of the park is home to an array of fynbos, over 250 species of birds, buck, baboons and Cape mountain zebra. There are numerous paths on which one can set off on foot, and tidal pools on isolated beaches. Enjoy the breath-taking views from Cape Point Lighthouse and travel to the most South-Western point of Africa, the Cape of Good Hope. Rising to just over one thousand meters directly from sea level, Table Mountain ranks in status alongside famous African giants such as Kilimanjaro and the Atlas Mountains. The experienced nature guides will interpret the wonders of the Cape Floral Kingdom on a hike. We have a couple of options for the hike and the guide will determine the best route for the group depending on weather conditions and group ability. Two examples are listed below:

The well-worn switchback of steps to the top makes it one of the most popular hiking options up Table Mountain. No bouldering or scrambling is required. Weather permitting, the AWOL guide will organise tickets and then proceed down Table Mountain in the aerial cableway. This can take up to 60 people at a time and does a full rotation enabling guests to enjoy 360 degree views of Cape Town, Lions Head and the Mountain itself.
India Venster Hike: 2-3 hours; moderate to strenuous up a technical route. We'll be met at our accommodation and transferred to the lower Table Mountain Cableway station for a short and sweet hike up the face of Table Mountain. The India Venster Trail offers adventurous hikers an exciting challenge for those fit enough to scramble up a few steep rocky inclines. The hike starts at the Lower Cable Car station and for two thirds of the route the path follows that of the cable car. Then it will turn and offer great views of Lion's Head, Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean and Camps Bay below. Weather permitting we will return down via the cablecar.
